FRANCISCO FERNANDEZ
I’m Chuavevo, an urban artist from Córdoba, Argentina, now based in Miami, United States. I was born and raised in Argentina, where I became immersed in hip-hop culture through graffiti and skateboarding. I am the fifth generation of painters in my family.
Through improvisation, I express emotional states and inner worlds through a variety of characters, addressing the complexities of society, everyday situations, and the feelings we all share. My work takes shape on diverse surfaces and formats, from large-scale urban murals to ephemeral installations, creating a constant visual dialogue with the surrounding environment.
Every stroke, color, and figure aims to convey the richness and diversity of human experience. Urban art allows me to express my connection with community and to explore the intersection between public space and individual creativity.
My focus is on capturing fleeting moments and transforming them into lasting visual statements that invite reflection. Through my art, I seek not only to share my personal perspective, but also to create emotional connections between people and the stories that live on the walls of the city.
artist statement
My art is born from the belief that, beneath our differences, we all share the same human essence. Through my characters, I aim to remind us that it is natural to experience emotional changes, and that even feelings often seen as “negative” can be transformed into something meaningful and healing.
By using calming yet impactful colors, I strive to create a sense of acceptance and connection—inviting viewers to embrace every emotion as part of their own growth. My mission is closely tied to helping others, especially vulnerable communities. This is why, beyond painting, I actively engage in solidarity projects and have supported a children’s soup kitchen for more than six years.
For me, art is not only an act of expression but also an act of service. Every piece I create is a step toward building empathy, offering comfort, and inspiring hope in those who encounter it.
